ExclusiveOrdnance Survey releases its first official UK map app for iPhone and iPad

Ordnance Survey, the UK government department responsible for mapping, has launched its first official mobile application for the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

OS MapFinder is free and includes a basic overview of Great Britain; customers can then add the same level of detail as printed OS maps by buying 10km x 10km ‘tiles’ from 69p each.

NTT Docomo says it’s working on a mobile phone that’s aimed specifically at pre-teen children and teenagers who are upper elementary and junior high school students in Japan.

The Smartphone for Juniors SH-05E is being manufactured by Sharp and will go on sale in early February.

ExclusivePunch Taverns expanding free WiFi coverage across its UK pubs

UK pub company Punch Taverns has arranged a deal with The Cloud to install free WiFi into its pubs.

A number of its properties already have WiFi; they will now be transferred onto the new arrangement, which includes Punch covering the landlord’s running costs for two years.
