Exclusivegiffgaff returns to free data for a month

UK network giffgaff introduced data charges to its standard tariff at the beginning of April. It had previously offered limited data access as a free trial to its customers.

In a blog post, the network admits it's recently had problems with the service - traced to technical issues with its parent network, O2 - and is consequently removing its data charges until the issues are fixed.

ExclusiveEverything Everywhere says plans are on track as it reveals Q1 2011 figures

Everything Everywhere, which runs the Orange and T-Mobile UK networks, has released outline results for the first quarter of 2011. It says mobile service revenue was up 1.6% year-on-year, although overall turnover was down 1.7%. (Both figures exclude the effects of regulation).

Orange and T-Mobile now have 27.7 million customers between them.

ExclusiveMobile payment company Square receives investment from Visa

Mobile payments company Square, which offers a plug-in card reader that enables iPhone and Android users to accept credit card payments, has received a "strategic investment" from Visa.

Square, currently only available in the USA, recently announced that it was processing more than a million dollars per day.
