Nokia anticipates slight delay before Microsoft buys its Devices and Services business

Nokia says it expects to complete the sale of its Devices & Services business to Microsoft in April, rather than its original expectation of ‘the first quarter of 2014’.

Although Nokia and Microsoft have received regulatory approval from the European Commission and the US Department of Justice, they’re still waiting for approvals from some competition authorities in Asia.

Nokia confirms Android rumours: three new 'Nokia X' smartphones revealed

Nokia has announced a new software platform - Nokia X - that’s based on the Android Open Source Project.

Initially the handset manufacturer plans to release three new devices running Nokia X. They’ll join the company’s Windows Phone (Lumia) and Series 40 (Asha) smartphones.

More hardware partners for Microsoft's Windows Phone

Microsoft says it’s now working with nine new hardware partners on Windows Phone devices: Foxconn, Gionee, Lava/Xolo, Lenovo, LG, Longcheer, JSR, Karbonn and ZTE.

These will join the four current partners, which are HTC, Huawei, Nokia and Samsung.
