Orange UK introduces secure remote management tool for businesses

Orange UK has announced the launch of Secure Mobility from Orange, an end-to-end security solution that lets businesses manage company data on tablets and smartphones.

The service, which can be used on company phones and on employees’ own handsets, combines Orange’s Mobile Device Management and its Data VPN.

Orange tops latest Ofcom mobile complaints list

Ofcom has published the fourth edition of its quarterly UK telecoms complaints data. The report covers the final three months of 2011.

As with previous periods, overall mobile complaint levels were much lower than for fixed-line telephones and fixed broadband services. For the Q4 2011 period, Ofcom received the fewest complaints about O2 and the most complaints about Orange.

Facebook plans mobile operator billing for web apps

Facebook says it’s currently working with AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica, T-Mobile USA, Verizon, Vodafone, KDDI and Softbank to introduce operator billing.

This would enable Facebook users to buy digital goods via a mobile web application and pay by charging the purchase to their mobile phone account.

Orange plans new Intel-powered Android smartphone for the UK this summer

Orange has announced plans to introduce an Android-powered smartphone using the new Intel Atom Z2460 processor.

The phone, which is currently codenamed ‘Orange Santa Clara,’ will be launched in the UK and France this summer.
