Telefonica introduces TU Me integrated messaging app

Telefónica’s Digital business unit has launched a new all-in-one communication application called TU Me.

The free app is available worldwide and is the first service from Telefónica Digital that’s been launched directly to consumers.

Over a quarter of all mobile ad spend will be location-related in 2016

A new research report from Berg Insight has calculated that the total value of real-time mobile location-based advertising and marketing will grow from €192 million in 2011 to €4.9 billion in 2016.

That’s a compound annual growth rate of 91%, with the 2016 figure corresponding to 28.3% of all mobile advertising and marketing.

30 million NFC handsets shipped in 2011, 700 million expected in 2016

New research from Berg Insight says global sales of NFC-equipped handsets increased ten-fold in 2011 to 30 million units.

An increasing demand for Near Field Communication technology is expected to see this figure increase at a compound annual growth rate of 87.8% to reach 700 million units in 2016.
