Almost £11 billion will be spent on mobile advertising this year, says Gartner report

A new report from IT research company Gartner forecasts a growth in mobile advertising spending this year, with the total global spend increasing to $18.0 billion (£10.9 billion) from last year’s estimated $13.1 billion total.

That growth is expected to continue for the next few years, with the mobile ad market being worth $41.9 billion (£25.4 billion) by 2017.

Samsung will perk up its flagship stores with illycaffe coffee

Samsung Electronics has announced a global partnership with Italian coffee brand illycaffè for the two companies’ respective retail flagship stores.

Samsung equipment will be used in illycaffè flagships stores, while illycaffè coffee will be available in key Samsung showrooms and at special events.

Huawei becomes the 'official smartphone partner' of Arsenal Football Club

Telecoms manufacturer Huawei has announced a partnership that’ll see it become the ‘Official Smartphone Partner’ of Arsenal Football Club.

The agreement runs until the end of the 2015/16 season.

ZTE anticipates a return to profit in its 2013 annual results

Telecoms manufacturer ZTE Corporation says it expects its full-year financial results for 2013 to show an annual profit of between RMB 1.2 billion and RMB 1.5 billion (£120 million - £150 million).

That would be a significant improvement from last year’s loss, although it’s still not as much as the profit figure from two years ago.
