The 5-TILES touchscreen keyboard has been released as a beta version by ETAOI Systems today.
As the name suggests, it uses just five keyboard tiles to type the alphabet rather than 26. This makes it particularly well-suited to devices with small screens, such as smart watches, as well as conventional smartphones.
Cambridge-based Neul, which specialises in producing hardware to support the ‘Internet of Things’, is reported to have been acquired by Huawei.
The deal is said to be worth £15 million.

BlackBerry is expanding its BBM Money mobile payment service to smartphones running Android and Apple iOS from early 2015.
It was launched in Indonesia last year, enabling customers to make real-time payments to any BBM contacts who have signed up to the service.

Mobile ticketing business Corethree has arranged a partnership with carrier billing specialist Boku.
It means consumers will be able to charge bus tickets to their mobile phone account when they buy them via a Corethree application.
