Mobile ticketing business Corethree has arranged a partnership with carrier billing specialist Boku. It means consumers will be able to charge bus tickets to their mobile phone account when they buy them via a Corethree application. Currently customers need to use a debit or credit card.

Initially the two companies will work on adding Boku’s mobile payment service to Corethree’s MoBus mobile solution.

Ashley Murdoch, Corethree’s CEO, said “This is a landmark partnership for Corethree that enables carrier based mobile payments for m-ticketing. Boku’s payment solution fits seamlessly with our own technology and will provide more innovative opportunities for our clients and their customers. We are constantly evolving our business to bring greater opportunities to our clients and this is another very positive step in our journey.”

Corethree has developed m-ticket apps for a number of UK transport companies, including Brighton & Hove buses, Edinburgh trams and First UK Bus.
