The tablet hasn’t killed off the netbook, according to the latest news from Intel.
It’s announced the availability of the latest Intel Atom processors, which had previously been code-named ‘Cedar Trail’.

The Linux Foundation has announced a new open source project called Tizen.
Tizen will be designed to support a range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, netbooks and in-vehicle equipment. The project will be hosted by The Linux Foundation with development led by a technical steering group composed of Intel and Samsung.

Polar Mobile, which offers a platform that helps companies launch own-brand applications, is launching more than 300 mobile apps for Nokia smartphones over the next 12 months.
The apps will be available on Symbian, MeeGo and Windows Phone devices.

The MeeGo-powered Nokia N9 won't be officially available in the UK, according to a report from mocoNews.net.
Nokia has previously said the N9 also won’t be available in the USA.
