The securelist.com blog run by anti-virus specialists Kaspersky Lab has discovered a malicious Android app that targeted the user’s computer as well as their phone.
Consumers who downloaded an app called ‘Superclean’ or ‘DroidCleaner’ risked infecting their desktop computer with malware.

Financial results from HTC show revenue of NT$60.0 billion (£1.29 billion) and net income of NT$1.0 billion (£21.5 million) for the final quarter of 2012, as anticipated in the company’s preliminary announcement last month.
That’s a drop in profit of more than 90% year-on-year.

Three UK says it’ll be adding 4G connectivity to all its existing price plans and won’t be charging any extra for the faster service.
Customers with a compatible phone will be able to enjoy a 4G connection from Three as soon as it is available.
Twitter says a security attack late last week managed to gain access to information about around 250,000 of its users. It appears the hackers gained access to usernames, email addresses and encrypted versions of passwords.
The service responded by resetting passwords for all affected accounts, which appeared to include many Twitter ‘early adopters’.
