Motorola takes legal action against Huawei

Motorola is suing Huawei Technologies for allegedly conspiring with former Motorola employees to steal trade secrets. Huawei has called the complaint "groundless and utterly without merit".

In 2008, Motorola sued five former workers for allegedly taking Motorola information with them when they joined one of Huawei's resellers.

Motorola selling wireless network infrastructure assets to Nokia Siemens Networks

Nokia Siemens Networks and Motorola have entered into an agreement that should see Nokia Siemens Networks acquiring the majority of Motorola's wireless network infrastructure assets for $1.2 billion later this year.

Apple, Google, HTC, LG, Microsoft and Motorola face mobile email lawsuit

NTP Incorporated – co-founded by the late Thomas J Campana, who invented many of the technologies used in wireless email – has filed lawsuits against Apple, Google, HTC, LG Electronics, Microsoft and Motorola in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The company says eight of its patents, which relate to the wireless delivery of electronic mail, have been infringed.

NTP is probably best-known for a lengthy legal case with Research in Motion that's now been settled. The US government was forced to intervene after RIM was ordered to stop infringing the patents, which would have shut down BlackBerry email in the United States.

New 8 megapixel Android phone boasts Xenon flash

Another day, another Android-powered Motorola smartphone. This one's the MILESTONE XT720, which includes an 8 megapixel camera, a Xenon flash and 720p HD video recording. It's just 10.9mm deep, has a 3.7-inch WVGA screen and runs Android 2.1. It's expected in Europe this summer.
