Ofcom says fixed-line and mobile companies aren't helping disabled customers enough

Ofcom says mobile and fixed-line communications providers need to do more to publicise services for disabled customers. It's just published the results of mystery shopping research that looked at telephone-based and online help available from BT, Orange, O2, TalkTalk, T-Mobile, Three, Virgin Media and Vodafone.

BlackBerry's tablet, free Facebook and Roulette Cricket all appear in this week's podcast

Facebook Zero comes to Three UK

Three UK has launched 0.facebook.com, the 'lightweight' mobile version of the social networking site. The service was announced at Mobile World Congress this year and went live in May, although it wasn't supported by any UK networks. Now Three says it'll offer its customers free mobile browsing on the new 'Facebook Zero' site for at least the next 12 months.

All the UK's 'big five' mobile networks will offer Windows Phone 7 smartphones

Microsoft says the UK's major mobile network operators – Vodafone, O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Three – will be offering Windows Phone 7 devices when the mobile operating system launches later this year. In addition, The Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4u will also be selling the phones. However, a UK launch date still hasn't been confirmed.

Three UK creates new 'All in One' pay as you go tariff

Three UK has updated its 'pay as you go' tariffs with a new package called All in One. The company has described it as a "market beating plan that unites the value of contract with the flexibility of PAYG", although rival network operator giffgaff has disputed its claim about value.
