The 4th mHealth Summit brings over 4,000 participants from 50 countries to Washington, D.C. area.

Juniper Research says NFC growth will be slower than expected

Apple iPhone 5 is blamed

Juniper Research has revised its forecasts for the worldwide NFC market, lowering its estimates for NFC growth in North America and Western Europe.

It says Apple’s decision not to include NFC technology in its iPhone 5 has reduced the confidence of brands and retailers, which means we’ll see fewer NFC marketing campaigns and less interest in rolling out new Point of Sale equipment.

Two new virtual networks for EE

New MVNOs are Talk Home and White Mobile

EE, which runs its own 4G network along with the Orange and T-Mobile brands in the UK, has signed up two new virtual mobile networks.

They’re the first MVNOs to join EE since the new brand was announced.

Nokia introduces its lowest price Windows Phone 8 handset

Nokia has launched its third Windows Phone 8 device, the Nokia Lumia 620. It’s a smaller, lower-price smartphone than either of the company’s two previous models.

The Nokia Lumia 620 has a 3.8-inch display, a 5 megapixel camera, NFC support and a battery that promises up to 9.9 hours of talk time.
