EE’s ‘Orange Wednesdays’ two-for-one cinema ticket deal will end next year.

The offer, which was launched by Orange ten years ago before becoming known as ‘EE Wednesdays’ after Orange and T-Mobile merged, is due to close on 25th February 2015.

Vodafone to boost mobile coverage with small cells on advertising billboards and street furniture

Vodafone has signed a 15-year agreement with outdoor advertising company JCDecaux to deploy ‘small cells’ on street furniture and billboards, which will improve network performance.

It’s a global deal that follows a successful pilot programme where Vodafone Netherlands installed over 160 small cells on bus shelters in Amsterdam.

70% of electricity customers in Europe expected to have smart meters by 2022

Figures from wireless analyst firm Berg Insight show that 70% of electricity customers in Europe are expected to have smart meters by 2022.

The current figure for smart meter penetration in Europe is 24%; that’s the equivalent of 67.9 million smart electricity meters, most of which are in Italy, Spain and the Nordic countries.
