Sales through mobile devices now account for more than 10% of all purchases on eBay UK. The company says more people in the UK buy and sell goods via mobile on eBay than in any other European country.
On average, it means that one item is sold via eBay UK’s mobile platforms every second.

Roaming charges are back in the news this week. Not the latest round of price cuts (or, to be technically correct, lower price caps) but the European Commission's plans for the future. As well as continuing the downward pricing trend for a few more years, Neelie Kroes also wants wholesale interconnection at capped rates and the option of a separate 'roaming contract' when you travel abroad.

Online marketplace eBay, which already owns PayPal, has now agreed to acquire California-based mobile payment service Zong for around $240 million.
Zong offers 'direct carrier billing', enabling consumers to pay for purchases using their mobile phone number. The appropriate payment amount is then added to the customer's mobile account.
