The Mobile Marketing Association has announced the new members who’ll be joining its EMEA board of directors. 13 new members have been elected by the MMA’s membership to join 11 existing board members who weren’t up for re-election.
In addition, Kerstin Trikalitis, CEO of Out There Media, has been appointed to chair the MMA EMEA board.

Carphone Warehouse Group plc has published its preliminary results for the year ended 31st March 2012.
Net profit was £57.7 million, up from last year, although revenues from its European retail business were down 5.5% year-on-year to £3,313.1 million.

Juniper Research has published a report that shows growth from games and infotainment applications, helped by the increasing number of tablet devices, will help mobile entertainment revenue increase to more than $65 billion (£42 billion) annually by 2016. In comparison, last year’s total was $36 billion.
However, while overall entertainment revenues are expected to increase steadily, not every sector will do well.

Nokia says it’s making changes aimed at ‘sharpening its strategy’ and returning to profit.
It’ll be investing in location-based services and making this an area in which Nokia products stand out. The company is cutting up to 10,000 staff, reducing the number of factories its runs, acquiring a new business, selling its Vertu luxury brand and changing its leadership team.

Three UK is the latest company to introduce a new European roaming deal, hot on the heels of Vodafone’s announcement earlier this week.
It’s called the Euro Internet Pass and it allows unlimited mobile data use when in the EU for £5 per day.
