Vodafone is the world's most-valuable telecoms brand (and the top UK brand, too)

Last year, brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance calculated that Wal-mart was the world's most-valuable brand. Google was in second place, while Vodafone - in 7th place - was the top-ranked telecoms brand.

This year's Brand Finance 'Global 500' report sees Google taking the top spot with its brand now worth over $44 billion. Microsoft was second… and Vodafone, in fifth place, remained the top telecoms brand.

Microsoft confirms Windows Phone copy-and-paste update for later this month

Microsoft says it's delayed its forthcoming Windows Phone 7 update, which is due to add copy-and-paste functionality and other updated features to the company's mobile platform.

The first WP7 update, designed to improve the update process itself, caused problems with some devices when it was released last month.

First software update for Windows Phone is released

Microsoft has released the first update for its Windows Phone platform.

However, this isn't adding the much-anticipated 'copy and paste' feature but is a smaller update designed to improve the software update process itself.
