Microsoft has announced the names and specifications for its new Windows 8 operating system.
A launch date hasn’t been confirmed, although the OS is expected to be available before the end of 2012.

Openwave Systems, well-known for its mobile browser technology, has agreed to sell its mediation and messaging product businesses to Marlin Equity Partners.

ZumoDrive, the cloud-based file storage service that was acquired by Motorola Mobility at the end of 2010, is to be closed.
Users who signed up via the ZumoDrive website or the ZumoDrive mobile application are being encouraged to download and save their data. Yahoo! My Drive users are also affected.
