Mobile coupons will be worth £27 billion worldwide by 2016

Juniper Research predicts that the total redemption value of mobile coupons will exceed $43 billion globally by 2016, eight times more than this year’s anticipated m-coupon total of $5.4 billion.

Its new report says mobile coupons are increasingly delivered by mobile apps. It notes that innovative targeting techniques are being used to deliver mobile coupons to users based on more than just their location, with lifestyle, work patterns, social networking and gaming opportunities all becoming factors.

Ofcom publishes UK outdoor mobile coverage and mobile broadband maps

Telecoms regulator Ofcom has produced a series of maps showing coverage of digital communications services, including outdoor mobile coverage and mobile broadband availability.

The maps have been created from data supplied by communications providers.

Motorola Mobility says 800 jobs are being cut

Motorola Mobility, which has just released its quarterly figures, has confirmed that it plans to cut its workforce by around 800 employees - a move that’ll cost it approximately $31 million.

The job cuts are expected to take place before Google’s acquisition of the company and will not just be restricted to its US operations.

Cortado makes it even easier for businesses to work 'in the cloud' on Android devices

Cortado, which offers cloud-based desktop services, has enhanced its Cortado Corporate Server with new features for Android business users.

The Corporate Server platform enables mobile devices to be integrated into IT infrastructures, allowing business users to access their corporate network, create PDF and ZIP files, print documents from their handset and even send faxes.
