Mobile advertising network madvertise has arranged more than $10 million in new funding, with US-based Blumberg Capital and previous investor Earlybird Venture Capital both agreeing to provide funds.
Berlin-based madvertise has grown over the last two years to become market leader in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, making it one of the largest mobile ad networks in Europe. Last week, the company announced that its turnover had increased more than 300% in the first half of 2011.

Many UK BlackBerry users have been unable to access web and email services today.
The problem seems to involve one of RIM’s servers, because corporate customers with their own server don’t seem to have been affected.

Apple says that pre-orders of its new iPhone 4S have exceeded one million in a single day, beating the company’s previous pre-order record of 600,000 iPhone 4 devices in 24 hours.
The iPhone 4S is due to go on sale in the USA, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK on Friday.

Italian DJ Valerio Alessandro Sizzi has won the Nokia Tune competition to create a new ringtone for the company.
As well as receiving a $10,000 prize, he’ll also potentially become one of the world most listened-to music artists because his ‘Nokia Tune Dubstep Edition’ will be preloaded on more than 100 million handsets. Each of the five runners-up will win $1,000 each, with their tunes made available on the Nokia Store.

UK-based digital agency Vexed Digital has acquired mobile specialist Future Platforms.
Future Platforms was founded in 2000 by Tom Hume, while Vexed Digital was formed in 2006 by the founders of the Good Technology agency (subsequently renamed ‘GT’ and now VML London).
