Entertainment retailer HMV is reported to be appointing Deloitte as its administrator, although its shops in the UK and Ireland will remain open during the search for a buyer.
The company, which opened its first shop in 1921, currently has over 200 stores and employs over 4,000 people.

lastminute.com co-founder becomes an independent board member of the music tagging service
UK entrepreneur Brent Hoberman, best known as co-founder of lastminute.com, has joined the Shazam board of directors as an independent board member.
Shazam recently announced that its service had more than a quarter of a billion users and processed more than ten million tags per day, making it easier for consumers to identify songs and learn more about TV broadcasts.

Shazam, the ‘media engagement’ company best known for its mobile music tagging technology, has published details of the most-tagged songs of 2012 and revealed its predictions of music artists it expects to hit the big time in 2013.
By comparing information about ‘breaking’ artists with trends indicated by Shazam’s data, the company expects French Montana, Bei Maejor, Aluna George, Joey Bada$$, Becky G, Angel Haze, Rhye, Tito Lopez, Baauer and Haim to become increasingly popular in 2013.

Google-owned Motorola Mobility has announced its sponsorship of pop star Justin Bieber’s ‘Believe’ worldwide tour.
It’s also set up a mobile-optimised web site - RowMLive.com - and an associated competition to support the North American leg of his tour.
