New 4G WiFi devices and tablet set for launch
Mobile network EE says it’s signed up 3.6 million 4G customers in the UK, with sales of 4G tariffs now overtaking 3G sales.
It’s also completed the second phase of its 4G rollout, bringing 4G coverage to more than 2,588 villages and small towns as part of its expansion. In addition, the company says 47 major train stations and 22 airports are now 4G-enabled.

Consumers think mobile video calling services provided by mobile network operators would be better than those provided by third-party ‘over the top’ providers.
That’s according to a survey commissioned by telecoms software specialist OpenCloud and carried out by YouGov across the UK, France, Germany and the USA.

Microsoft has announced the third generation of its own-brand tablet devices, which were first launched in June 2012.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a 12-inch Full HD display and runs Windows 8.1 Pro on a choice of Intel Core processors.

A report published today by Juniper Research shows that one in five of all mobile phones will have mobile wallet functionality by 2018.
That compares with less than 10% at the end of last year.
