eXpansys plans acquisition of Data Select Network Solutions and PJ Media in reverse takeover

Online electronics retailer eXpansys plc, which has Peter Jones CBE as its major shareholder and Deputy Chairman, says it plans to acquire two other Jones-controlled businesses to "build a global online technology superstore".

Data Select Network Solutions distributes SIM cards for mobile networks and MVNOs, while PJ Media is a web design and online marketing company. The total deal is worth £49 million and is subject to the approval of shareholders at an EGM on 23rd July.

84% of mobile broadband customers have had Quality of Service issues

Research carried out for mobile data company Acision has revealed that most UK consumers have experienced Quality of Service issues. 84% of respondents – people who either use mobile broadband on a portable computer or via their phone – said they'd had problems. Slow speeds had affected 67% of consumers, while 49% had suffered from poor network coverage. In addition, 45% hadn't been able to connect and 40% had lost connection at some point.

Nokia asks Russian authorities to help them retrieve prototypes

Russian blogger/journalist Eldar Murtazin, who writes for Mobile-Review.com, is in big trouble with Nokia. According to Nokia, he's admitted to having their prototypes – devices that he shouldn't be in possession of - but hasn't returned them. As a result, Nokia says it's now asked the Russian authorities for help.
