Apple has said that UK pricing for its iPad tablet computer will be announced on 10th May, with the device going on sale at the end of May 2010. That's a month later than expected; the company says strong US demand has led to the decision. Over half a million iPad devices were delivered (but not necessarily sold to consumers) in the first week the iPad went on sale.
Current US prices for the iPad start from $499 (around £323) for the 16GB WiFi-only version and rise to $829 (approximately £536) for the 64GB 3G/WiFi version.
O2, Vodafone and Orange have all confirmed they'll be offering UK iPad price plans when the device launches.
