Apple iAd mobile advertising coming to the UK next month

The Apple iAd mobile advertising network is coming to the UK next month. It’s already signed up over half the USA’s top 25 leading national advertisers since launching in July.

iAD’s European launch, which includes France as well as the UK in December, along with Germany in January, will see advertising from L’Oréal, Renault, Louis Vuitton, Nespresso, Perrier, Unilever, Citi, Evian, LG Display, AB InBev, Turkish Airlines and Absolute Radio.

Andy Miller, Apple’s vice president of iAd, said “We’re thrilled to add leading global brands to the iAd Network in Europe and create even more great opportunities for developers. In just four months, we’ve doubled the number of advertisers on the network and thousands of developers now have a valuable new source of revenue.”

iAd, part of Apple’s iOS 4 operating system, lets iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users stay within their current app while engaging with an ad. Developers who incorporate iAds into their apps receive 60% of the iAd Network revenue.
