Real-time location sharing service Glympse says it’s picked up $12 million (£7 million) in additional funding, with new investors UMC Capital and Verizon Ventures joining existing investors Ignition Partners, Menlo Ventures and Naya Ventures.
Glympse offers real-time, temporary location sharing via mobile devices, enabling users to share their location or journey without allowing themselves to be permanently ‘tracked’.

UK three-pin chargers not affected
Apple has warned customers that its two-pin iPhone mains chargers may overheat “in rare cases”. However, the three-pin model used in the UK is not affected.
The A1300 5W European USB power adapter was supplied with some iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models shipped from October 2009 to September 2012.

The European Commission and the South Korean government have signed an agreement that’ll see them working together to create a global definition of exactly what 5G mobile technology is, what it’ll do and when it’ll be available.
Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission for the Digital Agenda, and Mun-Kee Choi, who’s the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) for South Korea, also agreed to co-operate on 5G research.

Vodafone is planning a takeover offer for Cobra Automotive Technologies, an Italian company that provides in-car connectivity and security technology.
Cobra provides pan-European telematics services to companies including Audi, Bentley, Ducati, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche and Renault.
