ExclusiveCarphone Warehouse announces quarterly results

Carphone Warehouse has published an interim management statement for the latest financial quarter, which ended on 30th June 2012. It says sales in its European business, although up 5.7% year-on-year to £776 million, were actually down 2% on a like-for-like basis.

Total connections in Europe were down 17.8% to just under 2 million.

ExclusiveApple plans to acquire security company AuthenTec

Apple is planning to take over mobile and network security company AuthenTec in a deal that’s said to be worth around $356 million.

AuthenTec provides a variety of security solutions, from encryption technology to fingerprint sensors, for mobile phones and computers.
