Facebook has launched a standalone mobile Messenger application for iPhone and Android devices. It’s based on the Facebook Messages service that was launched late last year.
The Messenger app can be used to contact Facebook friends and other non-Facebook contacts in your phone’s address list, offering the choice of individual or group conversations with photos and location tagging.
