HP’s TouchPad, the first tablet to use the webOS platform, is due to hit the UK in July. It’ll be released in the USA on 1st July with UK and Ireland availability to follow a few days later.
There’ll be two versions: a 16GB WiFi model and a 32GB WiFi model. Pricing is expected to start from £399; a mobile-enabled version is expected to be added to the range this summer, although UK availability hasn’t been confirmed for this.
Jon Rubinstein, senior vice president and general manager of HP’s Palm Global Business Unit, said “What makes HP TouchPad a compelling alternative to competing products is webOS. The platform's unmatched features and flexibility will continue to differentiate HP products from the rest of the market for both personal and professional use. This is only the beginning of what HP's scale can do with webOS.”
