Foxconn International Holdings, which is part of the Hon Hai Precision Industry Company and best known for its work producing the Apple iPhone and iPad, has confirmed that CEO Cheng Tien Chong has tendered his resignation.
Mr Cheng wishes to retire to spend more time with his family and to improve his health. No date for his retirement has been confirmed.
The company says it’s currently finalising the appointment of a replacement CEO. Mr Cheng joined the Foxconn Group in 2007 and became Chief Executive at the beginning of 2012.
