HTC acquires Dashwire to enhance cloud-based services

HTC Corporation has acquired Dashwire, a US-based company that makes the ‘Dashworks’ platform to help users set up their smartphones and access mobile content across multiple devices. Dashwire will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of HTC.

HTC will use Dashwire’s set-up and sync products to its HTCSense.com cloud services.

Fred Liu, president of engineering and operations at HTC Corporation, said “Cloud services are key to delivering the promise of connected services to our customers. People want access to all of their important content wherever they are on any device. The addition of Dashwire's cutting-edge sync services and deep mobile cloud experience strengthens our ability to deliver these services in a more powerful way.”
