Last year Intel and Nokia announced a partnership. They've since worked together on the creation of MeeGo and are now opening a joint research centre. It's called the Intel and Nokia Joint Innovation Center, it'll employ around 24 R&D professionals and it'll be based at the Center for Internet Excellence within the University of Oulu in Finland.
Intel says the lab will start by conducting research for new and compelling mobile user experiences that leverage the rapidly increasing capabilities of mobile devices. It'll be a member of Intel’s European Research Network, Intel Labs Europe, along with other Intel Labs in Germany, Spain and the USA.
