HTC has announced a large-screen version of its HTC One smartphone. The HTC One max has a 5.9-inch 1080p HD screen and many of the features from the standard HTC One, including the ‘ultrapixel’ 4 megapixel camera, HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Zoe and HTC BoomSound. It runs Android with version 5.5 of the HTC Sense UI on a 1.7GHz Qualcomm quad-core CPU.
Unlike HTC’s previous smartphones, the One max has a fingerprint sensor on the back for additional security. This can be used to unlock the screen, with the option of choosing different fingers to launch favourite applications.
Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation, said “The addition of the HTC One max means that we now have an HTC One phone for everyone. The family has been built on quality and game-changing innovations and the HTC One max is certainly no exception. The upgrade to HTC Sense 5.5 will provide our most amazing mobile experience yet, with the HTC One max delivering the size and power required to do everything you want, and more, without compromise.”
Availability is expected this month.
