Lycamobile UK MVNO hits 1.2 million customer target

Virtual UK network Lycamobile, which offers low-cost international calls, has hit its target of attracting 1.2 million customers in its first year. The company launched in September 2008 and passed a million subscribers in June 2009. Incidentally, we spoke to Lycamobile CEO Milind Kangle in October last year; the podcast is still available online. [Press release (pdf)]

It's also just signed a partnership deal with O2, with a Pay As You Go SIM card due to launch later this year. Lycamobile also currently works with Orange in the UK.
