Mopay signs a global carrier billing agreement with Telefonica Digital

Online payment provider mopay has announced a carrier billing partnership with Telefónica, giving it direct access to the BlueVia billing platform.

It’ll improve the customer experience when consumers use mopay to buy digital goods and services that are charged to their phone bill.

As well as delivering an enhanced experience for end-users, the deal also improves commercial agreements for mopay’s merchant base.

Mopay’s payment process verifies a user via their mobile phone number, avoiding the need for registration.

Ingo Lippert, CEO of mopay said “We are thrilled to have entered into a long-term agreement with one of the world’s fastest growing and most prominent carrier groups. The agreement will allow our merchant base to directly access Telefónica’s subscriber base, and it marks an important milestone in our growth strategy.”
