Nimbuzz VoIP service attacks international call market

Nimbuzz, which provides a combined VoIP and instant messaging aggregation service to over 10 million registered users, has today launched its first paid-for product, NimbuzzOut.

NimbuzzOut offers low-cost international calls to landlines and mobile phones from any compatible Symbian or Apple handset via 3G or WiFi. This puts it in direct competition with Skype’s SkypeOut calling service (and a number of other VoIP and SIP providers).

Nimbuzz founder & CEO Evert-Jaap Lugt said “This offers fantastic value to our users, especially those who wish to communicate regularly with friends and family abroad at the lowest possible prices.  This is all part of our strategy to give Nimbuzz users control of their mobile lives and the freedom they want and deserve”.
