O2 disagrees with planned cuts to mobile termination rates

Nick Blades, O2’s Head of Regulatory Affairs, has published a blog post in which he disagrees with the calculations that form the basis of Ofcom's recent proposal to cut mobile termination rates.

He warns that cutting MTRs will leave O2 UK with a stark choice: raising prices in other areas or cutting back on investment. However, he also emphasises the company's commitment to maintaining its quality of service.

It all suggests that Ofcom's consultation process may not run as smoothly as the regulator would like.
