O2's giffgaff MVNO to launch next week

The 'people-powered' giffgaff virtual mobile network is launching on Wednesday 25th November.  Backed by O2, the SIM-only MVNO will offer free data usage for around six months from launch to all members. There's also a 'people-powered' marketing campaign that gives customers an opportunity to help make the network famous in return for free UK mobile calls, texts and mobile internet access for 12 months.

giffgaff SIMThe launch campaign is based on a Tool Hire concept, allowing members of the public to borrow a number of eccentric marketing tools to promote giffgaff. Those who upload videos of themselves using the tools onto YouTube could be selected as a V.I.G (Very Important Giffgaffer) with a SIM card that provides free UK usage for a year.
