Telecoms regulator Ofcom is asking consumers who’ve received an unexpectedly high mobile, landline or broadband bill to fill in a questionnaire. It’s gathering the information to help it understand more about the issue of ‘bill shock’.

Research commissioned by Ofcom in November 2010 suggested that 6% of people had experienced unexpectedly high bills on their mobile phone, 5% on their fixed-line phone, 3% on fixed-line broadband and less than 1% on mobile broadband.

The new consultation is asking for responses by 14th June 2011.
