Orange and HMV to launch mobile games service next week

hmv games powered by OrangeOrange is launching a mobile gaming service with HMV on Friday 26th March 2010. It'll be called hmv mobile games and will work on most current Java-enabled handsets connected to any mobile network. The two companies already have a partnership that's seen Orange concessions opening in HMV stores.

The new service will provide access to over 400 games, with new titles added every week. Prices will start from £1, with new releases and premium games costing between £3 and £5.  Orange customers will be billed directly, while customers on other networks can use the payforit mobile billing system.

Stephen Harris, Orange UK's Business Development Director, said "Orange is proud to be introducing this new service in strategic partnership with HMV, which will enable both parties to deliver greater value, products and services to our customers. It will also allow us to increase our reach in mobile gaming and build on our success as the number one mobile gaming operator in the UK. Our partnership with HMV is a key part of our strategy to grow and evolve our business, while giving consumers even more convenient ways to play games on their mobile phone."
