Orange and T-Mobile have both announced subsidised pricing for the Apple iPad when bought with a two-year ‘pay monthly’ contract. The devices are expected to go on sale in the next week or two.
Pricing on Orange UK starts from £199 for the 16GB WiFi & 3G tablet, rising to £249 for the 32GB device and £349 for 64GB. The monthly charge is £27, which includes 1GB of ‘anytime’ data and another 1GB of ‘quiet time’ data per month. There’s an additional 3GB of BT Openzone WiFi usage included every month. ‘Quiet time’ runs from midnight until 4pm. Existing Orange customers will pay £25 per month, saving £2.
T-Mobile shares the same pricing as Orange but is only offering the 16GB iPad.
Buying the devices SIM-free from Apple would cost an extra £330 for the smallest iPad and an extra £350 for the larger versions.
