Problems for Skype

Voice over IP service Skype has admitted serious problems with its service today. Reports suggest only 50% of Skype calls have been able to connect.

Skype says the software used by some of its users has prevented them from interconnecting calls, causing the service to appear offline for other users.

The company says its service is currently returning to normal, although customers using the enterprise version of Skype for Windows may still experience delays signing in.
