Nokia has revised its estimates for the mobile market this year. It's going to measure industry volumes using improved measurement processes and tools, giving it a better view of the number of mobile devices sold by new entrants.
Based on the revised definition and improved measurement processes, Nokia estimates that 1.26 billion mobile devices were produced in 2009. 34% of these were Nokia devices. (It had previously estimated 1.14 billion units, with Nokia having 38%).
This year, Nokia expects industry mobile device volumes to be up approximately 10% year-on-year. It says its own market share is expected to remain flat in 2010.
