Sony has announced launch dates for its first two Sony tablet devices. The Sony Tablet S, due for a European release later this month in its WiFi-only form, has a 9.4-inch screen. A WiFi & 3G version is due in November. Also due in November, the Sony Tablet P is a folding device with two 5.5-inch screens.
Both tablets will use the NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor. The WiFi/3G models will launch with Android v3.2, while the WiFi-only versions will be equipped with Android 3.1 but will be upgradable to Android 3.2.
The Sony Tablet S and Sony Tablet P will also be PlayStation Certified, enabling users to play compatible games. In addition, Sony’s cloud-based Music Unlimited service will be available.
