Sony Mobile Communications has updated its Xperia brand with three new X-series smartphones: the lower-spec Xperia XA, the Xperia X and the premium Xperia X Performance.
All have an improved camera with ‘Predictive Hybrid Autofocus’, which is capable of tracking moving objects.
The top-spec Xperia X Performance runs Android on the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, has a 5-inch Full HD screen and a 23 megapixel camera.
As well as its new phones, Sony Mobile also introduced a wireless earpiece called Xperia Ear. It’s a voice-powered ‘personal assistant’ that connects via a dedicated app and can speak information from the user’s phone, including their schedule, the weather and news updates. It’s also capable of making calls, searching the web, sending a message or navigating.
Earpiece and phones are expected to be available this summer.
