Twitter now available via SMS on satellite phones
Twitter has announced partnerships with the Iridium and Thuraya satellite phone services to give their customers access to Twitter via SMS. It means the service is now available without any need for land-based communication.
Thuraya subscribers can start tweeting by texting START to 1888, while Iridium subscribers can text START to 40404. (Charges may apply).
