Global M2M alliance formed by KPN, NTT Docomo, Rogers, SingTel, Telefonica, Telstra and Vimpelcom

Seven major mobile network operators - KPN, NTT DOCOMO, Rogers, SingTel, Telefónica, Telstra and Vimpelcom - have formed an alliance that’ll see them working together on machine-to-machine (M2M) projects. The initiative is also open to other operators.

The aim is technological co-operation that will enable a seamless global solution for multinational customers that require M2M device connectivity, increasing M2M sales across a number of industries.

An international SIM card is expected from the alliance, which will use the Jasper Wireless Control Center to manage connections. Jasper Wireless already has a relationship with a number of the participating mobile networks.
