Symbian Foundation source code will remain online until 31st March 2011

SymbianThe Symbian Foundation’s transformation from a non-profit organisation responsible for the development of the Symbian platform to a licensing body is underway, with the foundation’s public websites closing this week and open access to the Symbian source code removed.

However, the foundation’s FTP site will remain available to the public until 31st March 2011, offering the current platform source code, platform development kits and documentation. Developers requiring access should email contact@symbian.org.

The foundation expects Nokia to introduce a new model for hosting Symbian code by April 2011.
