Virgin Media's online and mobile TV player appears to have moved out of beta. Massachusetts-based SeaChange International has announced that the Virgin Media Player is now live and using SeaChange's multi-screen technology & managed service infrastructure.
The Virgin Media Player was revealed at the end of July, enabling customers with Virgin Media XL TV and Virgin broadband to watch television programs on their PCs, laptops and mobile phones.
Customers who also have compatible Virgin Mobile handsets can watch an hour of Virgin Media Player shows a day as part of their Virgin TV package, while other Virgin TV XL and Virgin Broadband customers can watch an hour a day for £1.00.
Alex Green, Executive Director of Commercial, TV and Online at Virgin Media, said "Virgin Media Player has been an extremely successful launch for us, giving our top tier TV customers total flexibility in how and when they watch our unique on-demand content with a user experience that is both simple and powerful. Usage is growing by the day and we continue to add fantastic new content. SeaChange has been a great partner, with proven end-to-end skills in multi-screen service creation, deployment and management."
