A report in The Guardian says Vodafone could soon drop its three-year exclusive UK retail deal with Phones 4u and start working with The Carphone Warehouse again. The deal for ‘pay monthly’ connections was set up in October 2006 and was extended in 2007 – but neither company revealed the length of the agreement. Vodafone and The Carphone Warehouse are said to have a good working relationship despite the Phones 4u deal but it’s been suggested that UK CEO Guy Lawrence might need to wait until October 2009 before The Carphone Warehouse is able to sell Vodafone contracts again.
